District Officials Meet With Community Members About Facilities

If you missed last week's meeting about District 113's failed referendum, you can watch the whole thing online.

District 113 administrators, professional representatives (architects, engineers and construction specialists) and members of , the group that opposed the , met on May 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the  (HPHS) auditorium. . The meeting was open to the public. For those who were unable to attend, it was recorded; the broadcast is available on the District 113 website.

Topics discussed included the following aspects of the long-range capital projects plan: 

  • How and Where Students Learn; Classroom/Learning environment. This includes instructional technology.
  • 1914 Buildings at HPHS
  • Building Systems: This includes , mechanical infrastructure, electrical and plumbing & will also include MRO (Maintenance, repair & operations) and MRO costs necessary to the District 113 building plants.
  • DHS Library
  • Building Envelope and Life Safety: This includes roofs, windows, doors, masonry, safety & security. 
  • Physical Education/Athletics/DHS Fields: This includes pools, gymnasiums, indoor running tracks, outdoor playing fields (DHS). 
  • Cost estimating/Cost Analysis/Budget Development.
