HPHS Raises $162,000 for Charity Drive 2013

Funding will send 162 children battling cancer to summer camp.

Highland Park High School has a lot to be proud of. Students raised an incredible $162,000 during Charity Drive 2013. All funds will be donated to Children’s Oncology Services – One Step at a Time Camps.

Charity Drive student organizers announced the grand total at a school assembly on Friday, March 15. The entire student body erupted into cheers when the announcement was made.

Charity Drive is Highland Park High School’s annual fundraiser. Students, staff, and the community spend the entire month of February raising money for a different charity each year.

This year’s beneficiary, One Step at a Time Camps, provides hundreds of children who are suffering with cancer, the opportunity to attend a summer camp. According to camp representatives, 162 children will be able to go to summer camp thanks to Highland Park High School's donation.
