VIDEO: Architects Sit Down with Students and Talk School Facilities
Perkins+Will met with more than 100 students to get feedback on DHS and HPHS.
District 113 architects Perkins+Will met with more than 100 students earlier this month to get their feedback on Deerfield and Highland Park High School needs.
Perkins+Will has been tasked with creating a Long Range Facility Master Plan for both high schools that addresses education, infrastructure, technology, repair and maintenance needs.
Architects spent one day at each school talking to students about their school’s facilities. Students were quick to give their input on a wide array of topics including temperature concerns, parking problems, student circulation and electrical issues.

District 113 architects will consider this information during the development of a master plan for Deerfield and Highland Park High Schools; architects also met with staff members. Part of the master plan will be presented during a Community Engagement Meeting on Oct. 2 at Highland Park High School at 7 P.M. District 113 is encouraging all residents to attend to get updated on the process and provide their opinions on the plans thus far.
