Highland Park Resident Chloe Blum, 7th Grader at Edgewood School Announces Charity Basketball Tournament Fundraiser November 04, 2013

Highland Park - DO NOT MISS......

A Charity Basketball Tournament raising funds and awareness for the Otzar school in Boca Raton will be taking place on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Highwood Rec center, located at 428 Green Bay Rd, Highwood, IL from 1pm -2:30 pm  on Tuesday afternoon.   The event is open to the public.  Donations will be given to Otzar School in Boca Raton, Florida, a special needs classroom for Jewish education. The children who attend Otzar have extensive physical and mental impairments. The event is being hosted by Chloe Blum, Highland Park resident and 7th grader at Edgewood School.  Any donation amount is appreciated to participate.  For more information call 847.477.5320.

According to Chloe Blum, “I decided to host this event after several years of volunteering in the Otzar school classroom with my grandfather.  It was there that I saw firsthand the positive impact Otzar’s programs have on their students.  I came up with the idea of the basketball tournament to find a way to lend my support and thought best to host it on Election Day, because many kids will be looking for fun activities to do during the day off from school.”

Added Blum, “The event will be a lot of fun and offer ongoing half-court basketball games all for a great cause in raising money for kids less fortunate who have extensive physical and mental challenges that they face each day.”
