January Happenings in Downtown Highland Park

The New Year marks many new store openings and events taking place in Downtown Highland Park! With a variety of local boutiques, restaurants and entertainment venues, celebrate the beginning of 2014 in Downtown Highland Park.

Recently opened, The Olive Tap (1852 First Street) serves Highland Park customers with award-winning extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Based in Long Grove, The OIive Tap is one of the largest specialty stores in the United States and offers oils from artisans and small batch producers worldwide. Stop on in to sample their freshly pressed 100% EVOOs, Flavored Olive Oils and aged Balsamic Vinegars from Modena, Italy!

Both Sprout Kids (644 Central Avenue) and Posh (658 Central Avenue) have added in-house embroidery and monogramming machines to personalize items from the stores or personal items that customers bring in. At Sprout Kids customers are able to monogram blankets, onesies, sleeping bags and more. Patrons are also able personalize a large variety of toys. Posh offers their embroidery service for robes, spa wraps, towels and more.

Vibe at 1935 (1935 Sheridan Road) has a phenomenal line-up of Live entertainment every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday in January. In honor of the Chinese New Year and this year being the year of the horse, the celebration will include a Kung Fu demonstration, a complimentary class teaching the ancient horse form of Hsingi-I Chaun, dinner prepared by five-star chef Michael Dellamano and a preview of their new Kung Fu reality show.
