Light up the Tree-mendous Holiday Season in Downtown Highland Park

It’s “snow” secret- it’s that time of year again! Welcome the holiday season to Downtown Highland Park on Saturday, November 23 during the City’s Annual Holiday Lighting Event from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm. Enjoy the sounds of holiday cheer from the Highland Park High School Marching Band and the Lake Forest Country Day SchoolChoir, while watching a classical holiday performance. The Nutcracker will be presented by students from the Irina Makkai Classical Ballet School in the windows of Uncle Dan’s – just one of many festivities during the tree-mendous lighting event.

Make memories merry and bright by challenging the little ones to a scavenger hunt, suitable for the whole family. After the winter fun and prizes have been awarded, stay for the breathtaking view as over 200 trees in the Downtown Highland Park are lit for the 2013 holiday season.  But don’t pack up the sleigh just yet, because Santa Claus is coming to town! Children of all ages will delight at the sight of the man in the red suit during this very special holiday event. Jolly Old Saint Nick will be available for pictures with children, and will give warm winter wishes for all.
