Rumors have surfaced that Apple Computer may soon be expanding its iPhone screen size from its traditional palm-sized 4-inch screens to 4.5 and 5 inch screens measured diagonally.

Both USA Today and the Wall Street Journal broke stories on Jan. 24 that new larger-screen iPhones could be in the works. However, Apple has not officially verified the report.
South Korea’s Samsung Electronics is already selling a 5.7-inch screen on its Galaxy Note 3, and other Android rivals already have larger phones on the market, particularly in the Far East where they are quite popular.
Apple has been trying to expand its phone presence in China. Recently they signed a lucrative sales deal with China Mobile Ltd., the world’s largest telecom company, to sell Apple’s new 5S and 5C iPhones there. However, both have 4-inch screens.
Although expensive for the average person to purchase there, these quality smartphones seem to be selling well against cheaper brands.
