Memorial Day Ceremony Planned in Highland Park

Highland Park will honor veterans with a Memorial Day ceremony Monday, May 27.

Highland Park's Memorial Day ceremony begins at 11 a.m. Monday near the bandstand at Memorial Park, 405 Prospect Ave.

The park is just east of the Highland Park Public Library at the intersection of Laurel, Prospect and Linden Avenues.

Music will be provided by the Highland Park High School band.

Special guests include Mayor Nancy Rotering, Sen. Julie Morrison and former Mayor Daniel Pierce.

Members of American Legion Post #145, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4737, and Jewish War Veterans Post #29 will be present.

Sunset Foods is donating refreshments.

The event will be held rain or shine. For more information, contact the City Manager’s Office at (847) 926-1000. Please note that city offices will be closed in observance of the holiday.
