Best Of Patch: Where's The Best Hamantaschen?

What's your favorite spot to pick up the Purim pastry?

Editor’s note—This story starts a Patch weekly series about the “best of” in Highland Park. Today we begin with a holiday food. Over the course of the program will gauge reader choices of many topics. We hope you participate in each one.

With the Jewish holiday of Purim starting at sundown March 7, Hamantaschen—the traditional triangular pastry associated with the celebration—are making their way into stores around Highland Park.

Since both those celebrating Purim and those who just want to try Hamantaschen will be stocking up, we've decided to use an unofficial poll to determine the best ones in Highland Park.

has already been selling two packaged varieties, Oberlander and Z Best. The packages contain an assortment of flavors including apricot and raspberry.

also offers an assortment of flavors from cherry to apricot to chocolate chip.

Max's Deli told Patch it had a fresh batch of prune and raspberry Hamantaschen as of Monday morning.

And is offering Hamantaschen as well.

Readers have until 9 a.m. Friday to vote in the poll below. Patch will announce the winner by noon that day. Ties will be broken by whichever business has the most positive comments in the section below.
