Ban'd in Highland Park: The Legends of Hammerli, SIG, Walther, Steyr, FWB, and more

Ban'd in Highland Park

The legendary handguns of Hammerli, Walther, SIG, SAKO, Steyr, Feinwerkbau, High Standard, S&W.

Many of these guns, the legendary and classic handguns for international, Olympic, and national sports competitions as well as for other uses, are classified and banned as "assault weapons" in Highland Park.

The largest group of these guns in the western hemisphere will be on display, and available for purchase, at this event.

Originally planned as an exhibition only in Highland Park, backout by the original location there and red tape in Highwood have prevented holding the exhibition there.  A kindly shopkeeper in Zion has provided space in the back yard for this incredible exhibition, opportunity for learning, chance for discussion and (if you wish) sale.

In addition to the guns, true experts with many decades of experience in the design, use, and manufacture of these guns (and what previously were called assault weapons as well) will be available for your information, advice, and assistance.  Discussion of handgun accuracy, use in self defense, the new Illinois laws and the like also will be available in a congenial, informal environment.

This event has many overlaps with issues of public safety, recent changes in Interpol incentives, classical physics, materials engineering, acoustical engineering, game theory and Monte Carlo methods.  Any or all of these can be discussed with the experts at the event, if desired.

Even though many of these guns are banned in Highland Park, in general that ban does not preclude a Highland Park resident from purchasing these guns in Zion, so long as the guns are not brought into Highland Park by an unauthorized individual.  Please note, note however, that no private party sales of firearms will be transacted at this event.  Any transfer will be through FFL-licensed dealer to end user.

These legendary guns all are used.  All are in perfect to excellent use condition.  A few could be considered in "collector" or museum  condition.  All are retired from use in Europe as target competition, intelligence, police, or military special forces use, and have been used here in testing programs from which they now are discharged or surplused.  Also on display will be some very unusual guns, including vibrationless barrel designs, that are not for sale.

A list of guns and models follows.  For information, please contact Nikita@alum.MIT.edu.  Please do not contact the display location for information on the guns, as they do not have any details.  Extra magazines for these guns will not be available for sale separately.  Most of these guns are 0.2 to 0.3 MOA firearms.  The lower quality S&W and High Standard guns are not in that accuracy range, but still are among, if not THE the best ever made in the USA.
