CITY OF HIGHWOOD OFFERS MOBILE PAY FOR DAILY COMMUTER PARKING AT HIGHWOOD METRA STATION

HIGHWOOD, IL (NOVEMBER 25,
2013) -
The City
of Highwood
, in collaboration
with PassportParking,
is introducing mobile pay for Metra daily commuter parking. Beginning December
2nd, 2013, commuters that park at the Highwood Metra station no
longer have to worry about carrying cash when they’re running late for the
train. The new mobile pay feature eliminates the need for cash and allows
commuters to pay while walking to the train.



 



The new system
will give commuters three ways to pay for parking:

the free PassportParking mobile app, available for iPhone and Android



·     
Call
(847) 380-4332 and key in the parking zone and space number, or text the
telephone number.

Go
online to register at www.passportparking.com.



 



Users only need
to register once, either in advance or when parking, to use the pay by phone
option. Commuters who pay for parking by phone will also be able to view their
parking history and print receipts online at www.passportparking.com.



 



“This new mobile
pay feature is sure to improve commuters’ daily routine and overall experience,”
states Scott Hartman, City Manager. “By making the parking process simpler, we hope
to entice more people to take public transportation.”  



 



Signs near the
platform cash boxes will provide the station’s zone number, and the user is
responsible for remembering their designated parking spot number. Representatives
will be available to answer questions at the train station on the day the
service is initiated.
