Artist Reception: The Spirit of Hanukkah Through the Eyes of Chicagoland Artists

The Rissman Family Kol Ami Museum at North Suburban Synagogue Beth El presents "City of Broad Shoulders and Bright Lights: The Spirit of Hanukkah Through the Eyes of Chicagoland Artists," November 16, 2012 through February 19, 2013. This all-media art exhibition, curated by Molly J. Schiff, includes works by 18 local artists representing the symbols, history, and customs of Hanukkah.


Welcome the artists and enjoy complimentary holiday refreshments and wine on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 6:45pm. Following evening Minyan, Jane Shapiro, former Associate Director of the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School, will lead a discussion from Jewish sources on how we can add more meaning to the Hanukkah rituals and how we can emanate light from within in our relationships with others.


Featured artists are: Margo Berkson Berg, Marlene Diamond, Beverly Ellstrand, Sandra Holubow, Suzanne Horwitz, Judith Joseph, Michael Karzen, Jenny Learner, Paulette S. Levy, Barbara Lipkin, Bert Menco, Adrien Pikovsky, Judith Roth, Darryll Schiff, Molly J. Schiff,  Jack Siegel, Lorre Slaw, and Michelle Stone.
