ILLINOIS ORTHOPEDIC NETWORK (ION) IN CONJUNCTION WITH CHICAGO AND MIDWEST REGIONAL JOINT BOARD OF WORKERS UNITED (CMRJB) LAUNCHES A SERIES OF HEALTH AND WELLNESS FAIRS FOR UNION WORKERS

CHICAGO, IL (NOVEMBER 2012) – In the first of its kind partnership, Illinois Orthopedic Network (ION), in conjunction with the Chicago and Midwest Regional Joint Board of Workers United (CMRJB) have teamed up to provide cutting edge benefits for all Chicagoland area Union Members.  Being unveiled at a series of free health and wellness fairs throughout Chicagoland beginning November 9th, Union Workers and their families will be treated to a variety of free medical screenings and educational initiatives from this new organized team of medical professionals.  


 


The first of five scheduled Health and Wellness Fairs will take place on November 9th from 11am-8pm in the CMRJB Union Building, 333 S. Ashland Avenue in Chicago.  Attendees will be offered such free services as on site flu vaccines (for sponsoring Unions), diabetes screenings, wellness massages, blood pressure checks, body fat analysis, bone densiometry, injury screenings, ergonomic assessments, worker rights seminars, injury case management roundtables, orthopedic evaluations, and lifting mechanic education.

“The CMRJB is strengthening the Union through promoting the health of our members,” says Richard Monje, International Vice President of Workers United.

A total of five health and wellness fairs will take place from November 9th through December 16th to treat, educate and engage Union workers on medical awareness and their rights under the Illinois Worker’s Compensation system. These events will occur at different local Union establishments, banquet halls, and even on site at some of the larger facilities.   Members of all Chicagoland area Unions are welcome and encouraged to attend.


 


The dates for these events are as follows: November 9, 27, 30, and December 7 and 12.
