In The Raw October Educational Series & Prix Fixe Menu

In the Raw, Highland Park’s 100% organic, vegan, gluten free bistro, announces their weekly Educational Series. Each week, for $25, guests can enjoy a monthly prix fixe, a three-course menu with options, and a line up of educational speakers, authors, chefs and documentary films.

Renowned Nutritionist and Health Expert Karen Malkin
Karen Malkin is a health counselor and a psychology of eating coach. Karen takes a practical approach to whole foods and healthy living, combining cutting-edge science and psychology. She will discuss why diets do not work, and what does work. Plus, guests will learn her best tips to staying healthy during the upcoming holiday season.

Author of A Survivor’s Guide to Kicking Cancer’s Ass Dr. Dena Mendes
Dr. Dena Mendes is a licensed and certified Health Coach, Holistic Yoga Instructor, Holistic Chef and Pranic Healer. She is a Breast Cancer survivor who has integrated physical, mental and spiritual aspects of holistic health into her life. Dr. Mendes will discuss four major areas of health: food and inflammation/disease, acidity vs. alkalinity, detoxification season and reason, and dis-ease, physical and emotional components. She will also be signing her book.

Raw Food Chef Jennifer Cornbleet
Jennifer Cornbleet is an instructor at Living Light Culinary Arts Institute, the premier organic raw and vegan school, located in California. Jennifer also teaches classes in Chicago. She is author of Raw Food Made Easy and Raw for Dessert. In addition to signing her cookbooks, Jennifer will demonstrate how to prepare a delicious kale salad and antioxidant filled chocolate green smoothie.
