LOCAL RESCUES TEAM UP FOR WOOFFEST 2013

Chicagoland Lab Rescue, Orphans Of The
Storm, PAWS North Shore, and Tails of Hope are teaming up this Columbus Day
weekend for WoofFest 2013, a family and pet festival at Sunset Woods Park.  WoofFest 2013 is being dubbed the pet
festival of 2013 on the North Shore.
Past adopters from all three rescue organization and supporters are
invited to share in a day of outdoor fun featuring games, contests, and a park
walk around.  All proceeds of the
festival will benefit local rescue efforts.

“Rescue is costly”, states Co-founder of
Chicagoland Lab Rescue Diane Soares.
“The dogs we receive must be vetted, often spayed or neutered, and
evaluated for temperament all within the first few days of intake.  It is only then that we truly know the cost
of rescuing that dog.  There are times
when a dog needs surgery, or treatment for a condition and then the bills
really pile up.  Yes, rescue is costly,
but the alternative is not acceptable.
We have a responsibility to help and care for these animals.” To quote
social activist Shirley Chisholm, “Service is the rent
we pay for the privilege of living on this earth
.”
