This fascinating, award-winning, comedy-drama follows the life of Raquel, a live-in maid who has been with an upper middle-class Chilean family for over twenty years. Raquel has no life outside of the family and nothing much to show for these years of devoted service. When her behavior becomes erratic, the family decides it might be best to replace her. But Raquel won't go that easily. This funny, intimate, social-issue film is completely unpredictable, leading to one of the most uplifting endings in recent cinema.
