PTO Pumpkin Patch Sale and Monster Mash Bash a huge success!

PTO PUMPKIN PATCH SALE AND MONSTER MASH BASH A HUGE SUCCESS - WITH OVER $5,300 RAISED FOR DISTRICT 112 PTO’S!

HIGHLAND PARK, IL (OCTOBER

12-14, 2013) –
Just in time for Halloween, downtown Highland Park’s Port

Clinton Square was transformed into the PTO Pumpkin Patch and Monster Mash Bash
on Saturday, October 12th through Monday, October 14th.  With 100% of proceeds from $5 pumpkin sales
going to District 112 PTOs, families came out to Port Clinton Square to support
their schools and over $5,300 was raised and 1,000 pumpkins sold.

Highland Park teamed up with Highwood to show their
camaraderie for The Great Highwood
Pumpkin Fest
, October 17-19th. All pumpkins carved at the PTO Pumpkin Patch count towards Highwood
Pumpkin Fests’ record-breaking attempt at having the most pumpkins carved and
lit at once! On Monday, October 14th at 3:30pm, a hay wagon
"pumpkin processional" full of carved and uncarved departed Highland
Park for Highwood’s Metra Train Lot where the pumpkins were placed on the
scaffolding and counted towards the Guinness record.  Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering Passed the
Pumpkins” to Highwood Mayor Charlie Pecaro at 4:10pm ceremony and offered
Highwood best wishes in Highwood’s quest to break the record.

The three day event was full of family fun including ugly
pumpkin and gourd decorating, Monster Mash music and dancing from Highland Park High School’s DJ Club, a haystack maze, pony rides, halloween movies, hot cider, fresh
popcorn and s’more making, on-site registration for the Great Highwood Pumpkin
Fests’ 5K
Pumpkin Run, Walk & Kids’ Dash
, benefiting St. Baldrick’s Foundation, and more!

A special thanks to the Rotary Club of Highland Park/Highwood
and its Interact Club whose volunteers worked the PTO Pumpkin Patch daily, not
only raising money for District 112 PTOs, but also sharing in their
entrepreneurship, marketing, and sales during this great fundraising
initiative.
