The Birds of Lake/Cook Counties Benefit Invitational Art and Photography Exhibit

A special exhibit of bird art and photography by Chicago-area artists will run August 15-29 at the Erehwon Mountain Outfitters store in suburban Bannockburn to raise conservation awareness. The Birds of Lake/Cook Counties Benefit Invitational Art and Photography Exhibit is sponsored by Erehwon, Chicago Ornithological Society, and Illinois Audubon Society and its Lake/Cook Chapter. This exhibit will also introduce the works of several children who are members of the Illinois Young Birders club.

All profits from the sale of the prints as well as select Erehwon products will be donated to the Illinois Audubon Society (www.illinoisaudubon.org), the state’s oldest private conservation organization and an active land trust that has saved more than 3,000 acres of land throughout Illinois as well as conducting outreach and education to protect native plants, animals and the habitats that support them.

Adult participants include Scott Ellis, Lake Bluff; Jerry Goldner, Evanston; Philip Hauck, Grayslake; Ken Koontz, Volo; John Picken, Chicago; Laura Rowan, Berkeley; and Jenny Vogt, Streamwood. Illinois Young Birders participants include Jake Bartecki, Evanston; Ethan Ellis, Lake Bluff; and Eddie and Brett Kasper, Chicago. All participants have graciously agreed to donate a license to their materials for this exhibit.

Erehwon Mountain Outfitters is located at 2585 Waukegan Road, in Bannockburn Green Shopping Center, on the corner of Waukegan Road and Route 22. Hours are Mon-Fri. 10-8, Sat. 10-6, and Sun. 11-5. The closing event will be held on the final evening, Thursday Aug. 29, from 7-10 pm.
