Yin Yoga with Ceily

Yin yoga practice is an inquiry into the dynamic stillness of asana.
It is the balanced compliment to the more vigorous practices that
emphasize the strengthening and lengthening of muscles and build
internal heat. Yin is reflective of those aspects that are stable,
unmoving, more deeply hidden, directed toward the earth and difficult to
see. The yin shapes, executed through periods of stasis and stillness,
expose the joints to skillful pressure targeting the bones, synovial
fluids and deeper connective tissues of ligaments and tendons. Yin
postures help prevent joint rigidity and immobility. Chi or prana
is enhanced and pooled in the bones and joints. Meridians and organ
systems are nourished. The body and mind are prepared to sit comfortably
in meditation.
