Client Attention Drives Local Designer

After people buy a house, Doreen Avila helps them own it.

After you acquire a home, designer Doreen Avila of Design Partners of Highland Park is ready to help you own it.

Operating out of her Highwood studio serving people on the North Shore from Lake Forest through Winnetka as well as Northbrook and Deerfield, Avila will help you put your personal stamp on your residence whether one room at a time or the whole place.

“I find out your needs, how you like to live, develop a floor plan and come up with a scheme,” Avila said. She works within whatever budget is set before her. “This is how I’ve done things for 20 years in interior design.”

Volume is not her goal. Avila works with a few customers at a time so she can give them all the attention necessary. That is how she developed the name of her company, Design Partners. “My partners are my clients,” she said. “Your house is supposed to express you.”

Avila is also excited about a new line she will have after the first of the year, Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. “It’s designed to make furniture look old,” she said. “You don’t have to strip (the furniture before painting). It goes right on.”
