Ravinia Hands City Over $1 Million

Ravinia Festival head presents Highland Park City Council check for $1,054,573.

The past summer produced a record year for the Ravinia Festival and that resulted in more than a $1 million bonus for the citizens of Highland Park as Ravinia President Welz Kauffman handed a $1,054,573 check to Highland Park City Council at its Tuesday meeting.

Each year Ravinia pays five percent of its admissions fees to the City. The first $250,000 goes to YEA! Highland Park to benefit youth education and the arts in town.

“When we do well, Highland Park does well and we had a record year,” Kauffman said to the Council when he presented the check.
