Highland Park High School student completes his first Ultra Marathon

On July 13, Josh Lidawer (17) from Highland Park completed his first Ultra Marathon.  The “Dances with Dirt” race took place in Baraboo, Wisconsin at both the Devil’s Head Ski Resort and along the Ice Age Trail within Devil’s Lake State Park.  The trail run was 50 kilometers (31 miles) and included an elevation gain of 4.350 feet.  Athletes were allowed up to 13 hours to finish the race.  Josh completed the course in six hours and 55 minutes and came in first for the 19 and under male age group.  He was 59 minutes ahead of the next athlete in his age group.

Josh is an incoming senior at Highland Park High School and loves long distance running. 

He hopes to be walking again in the near future.
