Poetry That Moves for PACE North Suburban Buses

Also, it’s time for Highland Park Poetry’s 2014 Poetry That Moves Contest. The contest is a unique partnership with Highland Park Poetry, PACE and Highland Park High School’s Graphic Design classes. 12 short poems (not to exceed 16 lines) will be selected by our guest judge for display inside North Suburban PACE buses operating between Evanston and Highland Park, including the Ravinia Festival parking shuttles, throughout 2014 – a new poem each month. There is no particular theme – the judge is merely seeking short poems that move the reader. 11” x 17” posters are designed by Highland Park High School graphic design students and the selected poets receive a copy of their printed poem. Enjoy a sampling of the fabulous poems and designs from previous years. For complete entry guidelines and submission forms, visit www.highlandparkpoetry.org. The contest is open to poets of all ages. There is a $3 reading fee for each poem submitted (limit 5 per poet) and the deadline is September 30, 2013. For more information, contact Jennifer@highlandparkpoetry.org.
