The State of Illinois will be allowing people to obtain Conceal Carry Licenses and possess a loaded firearm by April of 2014. These firearms will be carried by Licensed CCW Permit holders on their person, in purses, jackets and when not allowed to possess said firearm, because of a posted No Guns Allowed sign,,, the firearm will be stored in their vehicle. Now, the danger to children is a serious one, because CCW has not been allowed in Illinois for over 50 years and nobody teaches their children about gun safety... "it is insane and scary" according to one comment that I received from a poster. Well the fact of the matter is this, guns will be found by children and if they are not trained how to handle that situation...somebody is going to be a victim of an accidental shooting! The NRA, yes I said the NRA, has a great training course for small children and it is very simple, it involves no handling of firearms or promotion of firearm ownership. It works like this, you simply tell your children how to handle accidently finding a firearm. IF YOU FIND A GUN ... 1. STOP. 2. DON'T TOUCH. 3. LEAVE THE AREA AND TAKE ANY OTHER CHILDREN WITH YOU. 4. TELL AN ADULT. You may not own a gun or even think other people should be allowed to own guns, that is your right... but do not allow your children to be at risk, by keeping them ignorant of simple safety steps.
