“The Healthcare Foundation of Highland Park is proud to be part of the North Shore Senior Center’s celebration of seniors in our community”, stated Jim Styer, Chairman of The Healthcare Foundation of Highland Park.  “It is a credit to the work of organizations like this one that seniors can continue to lead meaningful and productive lives on the North Shore.  By offering social opportunities and support services, the North Shore Senior Center enables individuals to enjoy their golden years to the fullest.  We are delighted to help sponsor the work of this valuable community organization.”

The grant awarded to the NSSC helps to support The House of Welcome.  This adult drop-in center offers socialization and stimulation activities to patients with mild to advanced dementia while at the same time it provides much needed respite for families and caregivers.  Professional nurses, counselors and social workers are available at the House of Welcome to support the needs of this group of seniors and those who directly support them.
