HP CAN Needs YOU

HP CAN is a network of local performing arts groups who are working to establish the reputation of Highland Park as a destination for world class performance and cultural events.

Highland Park Cultural Arts Network, HP CAN, is a project that includes the many arts and cultural programming organizations in and around Highland Park. We believe that the same audience that attends the visual arts programs will attend the many world class performance events located in or near Highland Park and that we'll grow faster by collaborating than by competing.

We'll tell you more about the group as we go on, but for now we're targeting the volunteer needs of one of our members, The Music Theatre Company.

Starting in January, The Music Theatre Company of Highland Park (at the Karger Center) will need assistance in their Box Office selling tickets, taking calls, and answering walk-up requests. As their exciting production of the blockbuster hit Pippin approaches in March, they anticipate a daily traffic increase at their space.

Having a volunteer at the front desk will help them with the influx of ticket sales and general questions that arise during production periods. Volunteers with a passion for theatre who would be willing to help either for 20 hours per week or to share those 20 hours with others are our best option; we’d like consistency so that you become familiar with our company and programs.

James,
Do you know if they contacted the Volunteer Pool of Highland Park to see if they can help meet TMTC's needs?
James M. Lynch November 11, 2011 at 08:32 pm
Terri;
They were actually the first place I posted it. In fact, I think they put it out on an email blast but I don't know if anyone's responded yet . . . I'm hoping to include them in a lot of HP CAN activities.

Thanks, MYA. Your team is very involved in events as a promoter of our city, but also provide great training and entertainment. I hope everyone in the city knows about your efforts.
