Keep Rosewood Forever Clear and Free
Abandon plans to build a structure on the beach.
It should have been clear to anyone attending the public meetings that what most of those who gave their
views really wanted at Rosewood Beach was nothing more than minimally obtrusive
structures housing restrooms, showers, concessions and lifeguard facilities.
The Park District's constantly evolving interpretive center/year-round education
center/beach house is not what the community wants or needs on the beach, as
indicated by the nearly 1,000 petitions that were turned over to the District at
the last meeting signed by residents from throughout the community.
The District can't afford to ignore such a clear appeal to keep Highland Park's only recreational beach free from unnecessary construction.
Honor summertime Highland Park resident Montgomery Ward by applying to Rosewood Beach his efforts to keep Chicago's lakefront "forever open and free." Abandon plans to build a structure on the beach.
