If you assist an elderly relative or friend you might learn that they have a long term care insurance policy. LTC insurance can be very helpful in paying for skilled nursing, in home care, etc. but there are a number of potentially confusing criteria that must be met to make a successful claim. Familiarizing yourself with the terms of your loved one's LTC policy (they vary) can be quite helpful as you consider how care for that loved one.
