Dr. Bernard Hankin, Noted Pediatrician, Dies

Highland Park resident was 85.

Dr. Bernard Hankin, a pediatrician for nearly 60 years and a Highland Park resident died Monday. He was 85.

Hankin served generations of patients with passion, compassion, kindness and humanity, according Chicago Jewish Funerals.

Dr. Hankin was the most fabulous husband that ever was for 60 years of Annette nee Gordner. He was also the loving father of Don (Sue) Hankin, Cindy (Neil) Gottesman, Barbara Hankin and the late Linda Hankin.

He was also the proud grandfather of Aaron (Maiko), Sean, Shanon, Adam, Stephen and Eric. He was the dear brother of Belle (the late Harold) Hankin, the late Harry (the late Evelyn) Hankin, the late Sarah (the late Morris) Oppenheim, the late Temme Hankin and the late Dr. Henry (Esther) Hankin.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at North Shore Congregation Israel, 1185 Sheridan Road, Glencoe with interment Shalom. Memorials in his memory to North Shore Congregation Israel, www.nsci.org would be appreciated.
