Emilio “Ki Ki” Bertagni, 90, Dies.

Highland Park resident was an avid sports fan.

Emilio “Ki Ki” Bertagni, of Highland Park, an avid sports fan, dies Monday. He was 90.

Bertagni was born in 1923 in Bevier, MO to Dema, nee Berti, and Guiseppe Bertagni. Being from Missouri, he was a lifelong Cardinal fan. His son-in-law convinced him to become a Wisconsin Badger fan, but he refused to join cheesehead nation. He was and will always be a Chicago Bears fan.

Survived by his wife Dolores, nee Dinelli, Bertagni also has two wonderful daughters, Barbara (Mike) Teff of Spring Green, WI and Marsha (Joe) Asta of Scottsdale, AZ, and a beautiful and talented granddaughter Sophia Asta.

Bertagni was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Frank. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Saturday until time of his funeral mass at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James Church, 134 North Avenue, Highwood. Interment will be private.
