Raymond Fiocchi, Highland Park Dentist and Life-Long Area Resident, Dies at 85

He spent more than 40 years at his Highland Park dental practice, which he opened after returning home from serving in the Korean War.

Dr. Raymond M. Fiocchi, 85, of Highland Park, entered into eternal peace on May 30, 2014 surrounded by his family.

Born May 29, 1929 in Highwood, IL to Guilio Fiocchi and Louise, nee Bernardini, Ray was a life-long resident of the Highwood/Highland Park area.

After attending Marquette University and receiving his Doctorate of Dentistry, he served in the Navy as a Lieutenant attached to the 1st Marine Airway in Korea from 1953 to 1955. Upon his return in 1955, Ray opened his private dental practice in Highland Park where he remained in practice for over 40 years.

During his lifetime, Ray was very involved in his community. He was a member of the Highland Park-Highwood Lions Club for 47 years where he received the Melvin Jones award and served as president for 2 years, a member of the Chicago Dental Society, past president of the Lake County Dental Society, was one of the founding members of the Bank of Highwood and served on the Board of Director’s. He was a member of the VFW as well as the Military Order of the Cooties.

Ray will always be remembered for his love of golf, hunting, reading and gardening, but foremost his love for his family and friends.

Loving husband of 61 years of Mary, nee DalBianco; beloved dad of Debrah (Steven) Krebsbach, Dr. Raymond Jr. (Kelly), Cathrine (Jeff) Teare, Dr. Thomas (Maureen) and Ronald (Mary); cherished papa of Megan (Tyson) Masar, Steven (Karen) Kresbsbach, Jeffrey Teare, Timothy Krebsbach, Gina, Thomas, Christina, Colleen, Alexis, Stephanie, Michelle and Melissa; and adored great-papa of Ryan and Tyler Krebsbach. Ray was preceded in death by his siblings Geno (Jennie), Narchie, Dooley (Ann), Lena (Sereno) Leoni and Helen (Corrado) Piazzi.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 3-7 pm at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Rd., Highland Park, IL. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 10 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 770 Deerfield Rd., Highland Park, IL. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Highland Park, IL.
