The Ares Defense AR-15 platform SCR rifle busts a big hole in the AWB Passed by Mayor Nancy Rotering and the H.P. City Council...no pistol grip exists on this Sporting Rifle! While retaining all of the great features of an AR-15, it is exempt from the AWB. The AK-47 fans can get a Saiga Sporting rifle to accomplish the same thing. No need to miss out on owning a fantastic semi-automatic rifle...just do not have one in H.P. with one of those scary black pistol grips! The Illinois State Statute of Immunity from Prosecution is a good thing to be aware of too. Nobody may be Prosecuted for using a "Municipally Banned Firearm in self defense, while in their home." So... if you use a 30 round magazine to shoot 3-4 armed home invaders, the City of Highland Park's AWB is MOOT!
