The Life and Wars of General Philip Henry Sheridan

The Highwood Historical Society is pleased to present this interesting program by Steve Draska.  Date:  Thursday, March 20, 2014.  Place:  St. James Parish Hall, 140 North Avenue, Highwood. Time:  7 p.m.    Register by calling 847-682-9039.  Lecture is free of charge.  All guests welcome.

Learn the background on this famous general, born of Irish immigrants, graduated from West Point, served on the frontiers of both Texas and the Pacific Northwest and rose to Chief of Cavalry during the Civil War.   Fort Sheridan and Sheridan Road are both named in his honor.
