Update: Third Teen Arrested for NYE Attack

A 16 year old joins two teenaged boys who are charged for attacking a Highland Park High School senior in Chicago on New Year's Eve.

Update March 22:

A 16 year old has been charged in the attack on a Highland Park High School senior on New Year's Eve in Chicago, according to Highland Park News.

Charles Chuning is the third person arrested after an 18-year-old Highland Park woman was attacked and sexually assaulted on New Year's Eve near the Congress Theater in Logan Square. According to Highland Park News, Chuning did not sexually assault or rob the victim as his co-defendants are accused of having done. Prosecutors say he helped carry the victim to the location where she was sexually assaulted.

Chuning is being held on $750,000 bail, the Highland Park News reports.

Two teenaged boys have been charged as adults with robbing and sexually assaulting a Highland Park teen in Chicago on New Year's Eve, The Chicago Tribune reports.

Fifteen-year-old Terrance Ford and 16-year-old Aanwar Barbour were charged with kidnapping, robbery and aggravated criminal sexual assault after an attack on a Highland Park High School senior left the 18-year-old woman in a coma. They were scheduled to appear in bond court Tuesday morning, according to The Tribune.

From the Tribune:

A combination of DNA evidence, witness accounts and other evidence linked Ford and Barbour to the brutal attack, police said. Detectives determined that the other people in the group were not culpable in the attack and won't be charged with anything, police said.

Police are still looking for a third suspect, who is believed to be out of state, the Tribune reports.

The woman was , where she was trying to catch a performance by DJ Rusko, both the Highland Park News and the Chicago Tribune report.
