Five Cars Burgled in Highland Park

Driving under the influence

June 25: Edmundo Calvo-Gomez, (35) of the 300 block of Ashland Avenue, Highwood was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and one tail light after being stopped by police in the 1800 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Calvo-Gomez was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of July 19, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

Driving under the influence

June 26: Ashley Bodik, (29) of the 700 block of Kristin Court, Westmont, IL was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to carry a driver’s license, illegal transportation of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and endangering the life or health of a child after police responded to an accident at Half Day Road and Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Bodik was released on a cash bond with a court date of July 19, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

Consumption/Possession of alcohol by minor

June 28: Dylan Chase (19) of the 1500 block of East Course Drive, Riverwoods was cited administratively for consumption/possession of alcohol by minor while attending Ravinia Festival. Chase is expected in administrative court at City Hall on July 18, 2013. 

Possession of cannabis

June 28: Judd Loewenstein (19) of the 600 block of Jonquil Terrace, Deerfield was cited administratively for possession of cannabis while attending Ravinia Festival. Loewenstein is expected in administrative court at City Hall on July 18, 2013. 

Driving under the influence

June 29: Luis Moreno-Guerrero (35) of the 7400 block of N. Damen, Chicago was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and no valid drivers license after being stopped by police in the 3600 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Moreno-Guerrero was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of August 16, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

Consumption of alcohol by minor

June 29: Shaqurah Bell (19) of the 2400 block of W. Dugdale Road, Waukegan was arrested and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor, speeding and open transporation of alcohol after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Bell was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of August 14, 2013 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois. Passengers, Shantella Bell (19) of the 2400 block of W. Dugdale Road, Waukegan and DaShahana Judd (18) of the 39600 block of N. Warren Lane, Beach Park were cited administratively for consumption of alcohol by minor. Both passengers are expected in administrative court at City Hall on July 23, 2013. 

Retail theft

June 29: Gayland Massenburg (50) of the 19000 block of Avers, Flossmoor was arrested and charged with two counts of Retail Theft after police were called to a report of a shoplifter at a business in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Massenburg was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan pending court date. 

June 24: Police are investigating a report of a retail theft. It was reported that an unknown subject entered a business in the 0-100 block of Skokie Valley Road and removed a Samsung Galaxy S4 cell phone from a display. 

Driving under the influence

June 30: Brien McHale (29) of the 300 block of S. Benton Street, Palatine was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and speeding after being stopped by police in the 2100 block of Lake Cook Road, Highland Park.  McHale was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of July 19, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

June 30: Russell Kesselring (49) of the 100 block of Winddance Drive, Lake Villa was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 2100 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park.  Kesselring was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of July 26, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

Burglary from motor vehicle

June 24: Police are investigating a delayed report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported than an unlocked Cadillac Escalade was entered on Thursday, June 20, 2013 around 5:14am while parked in a driveway. 12 new Champion t-shirts were taken. The incident occurred in the 1100 block of Taylor Avenue, Highland Park. 

June 29: Police are investigating a report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported that a Volkswagen Passat parked in a driveway in the 1800 block of Elmwood Drive at 10:30 PM, was noticed at 12:30 AM to have the passenger side window smashed by unknown object. A black radar detector was taken from the vehicle. 

June 29: Police are investigating a report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported that an Acura parked on the street in the 100 block of Laurel Avenue at 11:00 PM, was noticed at 4:40 AM to have the passenger side window smashed by unknown object. A radar detector and GPS were taken from the vehicle. 

June 29: Police are investigating a report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported that a Hyundia Sante Fe was parked on the street in the 2700 block of Summit Avenue between 3:00 PM on 06/28/2013 and 9:30AM on 06/29/2013. During that time the front passenger window was smashed and the glove box and center console were opened. It did not appear anything was taken. 

June 29: Police are investigating a report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported sometime overnight a Nissan parked on the street in the 800 block of Yale Avenue had the front passenger window smashed and the glove box and center console were opened. It did not appear anything was taken. 

Theft

June 28: Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that sometime between September 1, 2011 and June 1, 2013, unknown person(s) removed two sets of golf clubs from an unlocked locker at a business in the 700 block of Vine Avenue, Highland Park. 

June 30: Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported an unknown subject stole a green plate with reflective numbers that was hanging from a lamp post in front of a residence in the 1200 block of Ferndale Avenue, Highland Park.

Criminal damage to property

July 1: Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that graffiti was located written on the women's bathroom mirror in black marker at the Central Train station, 1700 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park.
