Car Crash Leaves One in Critical Condition
Car rolled over in northbound lanes of Skokie Valley Road on Sunday night. Preliminary investigation indicates alcohol may have been a contributing factor.

A car rolled over and crashed in the northbound lanes of Skokie Valley Road just south of the Deerfield Road overpass at around 8 p.m. on Sunday, leaving one in critical condition.
Highland Park Police and Fire personnel responded to the crash at 8:06 p.m., where they found the driver and the passenger injured. Both were transported to . The passenger is still in critical condition and was later transferred to Evanston Hospital. Both people are still hospitalized

The traffic crash is being investigated by the Highland Park Police Accident Investigation Team along with the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team and the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office. Preliminary investigation indicates that alcohol consumption may have been a contributing factor. Investigation of the crash and removal of the vehicle and debris required temporary closure of northbound lanes of Skokie Valley Road for approximately two-hours. A detour was established during the closure.
The driver has been identified as 22 year old Hugo Ugalde-Pacheco - 1400 block of Droster Road, Madison, Wisconsin. The passenger’s identity has not yet been verified.
