A Lake Bluff man was indicted for solicitation to meet a child, a Class 4 Felony, by the Lake County Grand Jury Wednesday in Waukegan, according to a news release from the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Eric Silver, 22, was originally arrested Nov. 18 by the Highland Park Police when he was parked in a car in the 100 block of Central Avenue, according to Highland Park Police reports. The vehicle looked suspicious to police on a routine patrol.

Silver will be arraigned in Lake County Criminal Court Jan. 8 in Waukegan. At that time he will have the opportunity to plead guilty or not guilty. Should Silver be convicted, he faces between one and three years in prison.

needs psych help, not prison.

Stu, that is the most intelligent statement I've heard on the subject. If the guy has a problem like this, how is incarceration going to help anything? Yes, you're getting him off the street, but so would an extended psychiatric hospitalization. Prison can change him for the worse, why not use therapy and psychotropic medication--if necessary--to change him for the better?

Agreed. Through lack of funding,Qualified highly trained Counselors, etc., our Prisons have become the mental health centers for the nation. This kid clearly needs help possibly due to past abuse etc. ( Many people in this country just like to put their head in the sand when it comes to something like this). I have seen many adults who are sexually dysfunctional (variety of Issues) due to them being sexually abused when they were a child and not getting the proper help. The majority of the time it was at the hands of a family member!! I am not a Psych Dr., However, I have listened to many peoples stories over the years due to the business that I am in, and have seen a pattern emerge which is really sad. It affects all socio-economic levels. David, do not mind my moniker, it is purely for anonymity!! Have a great day.
