Citizen Complaint Leads to DUI Arrest

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park and Deerfield Police Departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

DUI 

Mike Mayda, 50, of Highland Park was arrested Oct. 1 and charged with driving under the influence after police responded to a report of suspicious activity in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road, according to Highland Park Police reports. Mayda was released on a cash bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court Nov. 15 in Waukegan.

Police are investigating a report made Oct. 1 of criminal damage to property, according to Highland Park Police reports. Unknown person(s) spray painted an inappropriate picture overnight on a porta potty in yellow spray-paint. The incident occurred in the 1800 block of Sunnyside Ave..

Theft 

Police are investigating a report of a theft made Oct. 1. A 2003 Mazda Miata Convertible had four rims and tires removed from it sometime between 9 a.m. Sept. 30 and 3 a.m. Oct. 1. The incident occurred in the 2700 block of Skokie Valley Road, according to Highland Park Police reports.

Driver’s License Infractions and More 

Adriana Moreno-Gomez, 38, of Highwood was arrested Thursday and charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving while license suspended after police responded to a report of a two car accident near Half Day Road and Augusta Way, according to Highland Park Police reports. Moreno-Gomez was released on a personal recognizance bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court Oct. 23 in Park City.
