Door, Window Broken in Attempted Burglary

Theft under $500

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that a round gold medallion with the letters CGM inside was lost or stolen during July, 2012. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that a wallet was stolen from a locked locker on February 5, 2013 at a business in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Fraudulent charges were subsequently found made to two credit cards that were in the wallet. 

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that a red wallet was taken from inside a purse while shopping at a business in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Attempted residential burglary

Police are investigating a report of an attempt residential burglary. It was reported that unknown person(s) attempted entry to a residence in the 400 block of Burton Avenue between 1:00 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Glass broken on the front door and a basement window glass was broken but no entry was able to be made.

Driving under the influence

Maurice O’Regan-Reidy, 43, of the 3500 block of N. Wilton, Chicago  was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after being stopped by police who responded to a driving complaint in the 1500 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  O’Regan-Reidy was released on a cash bond with a court date of March 1, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

Peter Yakes, 38, of the 1000 block of North Avenue, Lake Bluff  was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, open transportation of alcohol, uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 300 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Yakes was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of March 15, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

Alejandro Magallanes-Cambron, 25, of the 300 block of Oakwood Avenue, Waukegan was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving while license suspended and improper turn after being stopped by police in the 1300 block of Half Day Road, Highland Park.  Magallanes-Cambron was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of March 15, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. Also arrested was passenger Fernando Cambron, 26, of the 900 block of Park, Waukegan who was charged with Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Cambron was released on a personal recognizance bond and is expected in court on March 4, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan. 

Benjamin Najera, 42, of the 1200 block of Jackson Court, North Chicago  was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and driving while license suspended after being stopped by police in the 3300 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Najera was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of March 15, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

Disorderly conduct

Jeffery Keys, 31, of the 2000 block of Joppa, Zion, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and battery after police responded to a complaint from Metra conductors of a dispute in the 0-100 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park.  Keys was released on a cash bond with a court date of March 13, 2013 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois. 

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating a delayed report of criminal damage to property. It was reported that graffiti drawn in crayon was placed on the northeast stairwell wall in the upper level at the Port Clinton Garage in the 600 block of Laurel Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a delayed report of criminal damage to property. It was reported that unknown person(s) pushed or kicked in a mail box door in twice since February 4, 2013.  The mail box is located in front foyer of building in the 700 block of Judson Avenue where it is among other tenants mail boxes.

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to property. It was reported that sometime between 8:30pm-9:00pm unknown person(s) struck a mailbox causing it to fall over in the 300 block of Temple Avenue, Highland Park. 

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to property. It was reported that unknown person(s) took a rock and damaged the bathrooms at Sunset Park located in the 1800 block of Sunset Road, Highland Park. Two glass blocks and a mirror were damaged in the women's bathroom and a glass mirror was broken in the men’s bathroom.
