Green Bay Road Crash Injures Three

Impatient drivers collide, one rolls over. No injuries life threatening.

Three vehicles collided on Green Bay Road near Onwentsia Road causing one of them to roll over not far from Highland Park High School shortly after 8 a.m. today, according to reports from the Highland Park Police Department.

Three people, occupants of two of the cars, were transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries, according to Highland Park Deputy Police Chief George Pfutzenreuter.

With southbound Green Bay Road traffic backed up close to Prairie Avenue in Highwood, the driver of one of the vehicles moved to the left to get into the left turn lane onto Vine Avenue north of Onwentsia before the area became a lane, according to Pfutzenreuter.

“As he was passing (the cars on his right) someone else in line got a similar idea at Green Bay and Onwentsia and pulls out,” Pfutzenreuter said. “The two vehicles collided (and) one rolls over.” A third vehicle crashed in the incident as well.

All people in the first two vehicles were from Highland Park and the persons in the third were from Lake Forest, according to Pfutzenreuter.
