Gunman Robs Gas Station, Flees
The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Armed Robbery
An armed gunman wearing a black oversized hoodie robbed a gas station in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road August 12, according to Highland Park Police reports. Two employees of the business told police a male offender entered the business, displayed a small black pistol and demanded money. The offender left with an unknown amount of currency and got into a vehicle believed to be waiting nearby.
DUI

William Butzlaff, 28, of Highwood was arrested Wednesday for driving under the influence, reckless driving and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to Highland Park Police reports. Police arrested Butzlaff after responding to a report of a multiple car crash in the 600 block of Skokie Valley Road. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court Sept. 6 in Waukegan.
Eric Jepsen, 25, of Park Ridge was arrested Friday for driving under the influence and improper lane usage after being stopped in the 100 block of the Edens Expressway. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court Sept. 20 in Waukegan.

Theft
Police are investigating the theft of currency Wednesday from an unlocked office desk drawer at a business in the 1200 block of Park Avenue West, according to Highland Park Police reports. An unauthorized person was seen leaving an office saying the person was waiting for assistance. The theft was discovered 30 minutes later.
Driver’s License Infraction
Memille Trawick, 32, of Waukegan was arrested Tuesday for driving with a suspended license after he was stopped in the 100 block of the Edens Expressway, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court August 28 in Park City.
