Gunman Takes Cash From Highland Park Gas Station

Armed robbery takes place Wednesday night at Highway 41 and Park Avenue West.

A gunman demanding cash robbed the Shell Gas Station Wednesday night at Highway 41 and Park Avenue West fleeing north on foot with an undetermined amount of money, according to Highland Park Deputy Police Chief Dave Schwarz.

Police were on the scene within two minutes after receiving a 911 call, according to Schwarz. “He probably got into a waiting vehicle in the area of the Ford lot,” Schwarz said.

An African American male wearing a dark gray hooded sweat shirt with the hood pulled tightly around his face entered the store at approximately 9:25 p.m., displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the clerk, according to Schwarz. The man, who was also wearing long gray pants, is 6-3 with a thin build.
