Highland Park DUI Leads to 8-Count Indictment

Lake County Grand Jury charges another man with unlawful possession of a motor vehicle.

A Round Lake Park man involved in a crash Sept. 1 on the Edens Expressway in Highland Park and arrested Oct. 23 by Highland Park Police was indicted on eight counts of aggravated driving under the influence Wednesday by the Lake County Grand Jury.

Kevin Cordova, 19, was charged with four counts of aggravated DUI causing bodily harm, two more counts of aggravated DUI for not having a valid license and another pair because he was not insured, according to information from the Lake County State’s Attorney’s office. All are Class 4 felonies.

If convicted and sentenced consecutively, Cordova could face between eight and 24 years in prison.

Cordova will be arraigned Thursday in Lake Country Criminal Court in Waukegan. At that time he will have the opportunity to plead guilty or guilty.

Daniel Iracheta, 27, of Cicero was indicted for possession of a stolen motor vehicle, a Class 2 Felony7, Wednesday by the Lake County Grand Jury.

Iracheta was originally arrested by Highland Park Police Nov. 8 for driving under the influence, driving an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage, failure to signal, speeding, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and unlawful use of driver’s license.

Iracheta will be arraigned Thursday in Lake Country Criminal Court in Waukegan. At that time he will have the opportunity to plead guilty or guilty. If convicted, he could face between three and seven years in jail.
