Highland Park Man Arrested for Sexual Assault

Predatory criminal sexual assault

May 9: Victor De Yta-Morales (43) of the 600 block of Glenview Avenue, Highland Park was arrested and charged with 5 counts of predatory criminal sexual assault after police were summoned to a residence in the 600 block of Glenview Avenue, Highland Park for a report of a possible domestic complaint.  De Yta-Morales was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date.

Residential burglary

May 9: Anita Johnson (36) of the 6100 block of Natchez, Chicago was arrested on an outstanding Highland Park warrant for residential burglary. The incident occurred on June 9, 1997 in the 1100 block of Thorn Tree Lane, Highland Park. Johnson was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date.

Possession of cannabis

May 9: David Quinones (25) of the 1100 block of Route 41, Gurnee, Illinois was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, uninsured motor vehicle, no registration and driving while license suspended after being stopped by police in the 3000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Quinones was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 12, 2013 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City Illinois. 

Sale of alcohol to minor

May 10: Alexis Andersen (19) of the 200 block of Quaker Hollow Lane, Round Lake Beach was cited administratively with sale of alcohol to minor after a business compliance check by police in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road, Highland Park. Andersen is expected in administrative court at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park on June 6, 2013.

Aggravated assault

May 11: Rodolfo Baltierra (22) of the 2000 block of Kristan Avenue, North Chicago was arrested and charged with aggravated assault to a police officer, driving under the influence, no valid drivers license, improper turn. Baltierra had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear from Barrington Police Department. Baltierra after was stopped by police near Green Bay Road and Prairie Avenue, Highland Park.  Baltierra was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 14, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

Criminal trespass to residence

May 11: Alberto Ardila (56) of the 2700 block of Fort Sheridan Avenue, Highland Park was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to residence, criminal damage to property and resisting arrest and William Skees (63) of the 2100 block of Georgetown Lane, Waukegan was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to residence and criminal damage to property after both were located by police sleeping in a vacant house in the 900 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park.  Ardila and Skees were released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 14, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

Burglary from motor vehicle

May 6: Police are investigating a delayed report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported that sometime between May 3, 2013 and May 6, 2013 a work vehicle was entered and tools were stolen. It is unknown if the vehicle was locked. The incident occurred in the 1500 block of Old Deerfield Road, Highland Park. 

May 9: Police are investigating a report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported that unknown person(s) entered a parked and unlocked 2009 Chevrolet and stole a pair of Maui Gym sunglasses. The incident occurred in the 400 block of Vine Avenue, Highland Park. 

Theft

May 6: Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that between 04/22/13 at 4:00 PM and 04/25/13 at 5:00 PM merchandise from 40 different artists to be sold on consignment were discovered missing during a final inventory after a sale was held at the Highland Park Country Club.  The items missing include 6 multicolored Meredith Strauss Caftan silk jackets, 1 Sand Ester man sterling silver necklace with black stones, 1 Kathryn Bowman sterling silver earrings with green crystals, 1 Red Rover black/teal colored raincoat and 1 Britt Rynearson gray colored shirt/jacket.

May 8: Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that between 04-01-13 to 05-08-13 someone took several piece of jewelry from a bedroom closet.  The items missing include several costume necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of Cambridge Court, Highland Park. 

May 10: Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that a brown down style winter Columbia brand coat was stolen from the coat rack inside of a locker room sometime between 10:30am and 11:00am. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. 

Suspicious incident

May 10: Police are investigating a delayed report of a suspicious incident. It was reported that on May 9, 2013, at approx 4:30pm an 18 year old female was walking north on St. Johns Avenue near Vine Avenue when a dark blue 4 door sedan of unknown make/model stopped in the southbound lane. The occupant/driver asked “It’s raining. Can I take you somewhere?” The female complainant and her friend declined, and the vehicle continued southbound on St. Johns Avenue. 

Criminal damage to property

May 12: Police are investigating a delayed report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that a Vitamin Water vending machine had been tipped over sometime between 12:00 PM on 05/11/13 and 11:50 AM on 05/12/13. Unknown amount of damage if any at time of report due to machine being too heavy to move. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of Sunset Road, Highland Park.
