Highland Park Man Charged with Child Endangerment

Domestic battery, Child Endangerment

March 23: Jubentino Aguirre, Jr., 34, of the 2600 block of Waukegan Avenue, Highland Park was arrested and charged with domestic battery, two counts of child endangerment and interfering with reporting of domestic violence after police responded to a report of an altercation that began in a moving vehicle in the 1300 block of Park Avenue West, Highland Park.  Aguirre, Jr. was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date.

Domestic battery, Criminal damage to property

March 24: Ozias Sarmientos-Hernandez, 29, of the 900 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park was arrested and charged with domestic battery and criminal damage to property after police responded to a delayed report of an altercation which occurred the evening before in the 900 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park.  Sarmientos-Hernandez was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date.

Criminal damage to property

March 18: Police are investigating a delayed report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that on March 16, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., a 2011 Ford Explorer was scratched on the driver’s door and fender while parked in the rear lot of a building in the 1800 block of Sheridan Road, Highland Park.  

March 23: Police are investigating a delayed report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported sometime between 6:30 p.m. on March 21 and 12:30 p.m. March 23, a black 2013 Audi SUV was keyed on the rear hatch door, the driver’s door and passenger door while parked in front of a residence in the 600 block of Green Bay Road. 

March 23: Police are investigating a delayed report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported sometime on March 22, the trunk of a vehicle was damaged by what appeared to be a sharp object. The damage was approximately 12-13 inches in length. The damage occurred while parked in a lot in the 700 block of Park Avenue West, Highland Park. 

Sale of tobacco to a minor

March 18: Christian Rivera, 20, of the 300 block of Prairie Avenue, Highland Park, was cited with sale of tobacco to minor after selling cigarettes to 16 year old during tobacco compliance checks at a business in the 1300 block of Half Day Road, Highland Park.  Rivera was cited administratively with a court date of April 18, 2013 at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois.

March 18: Jamal Abudan, 48, of the 1000 block of White Pine Trail, Pingree Grove, Illinois was cited with sale of tobacco to minor after a minor employee sold cigarettes to a 16 year old during tobacco compliance checks at a business in the 700 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park.  Abudan was cited administratively with a court date of April 18, 2013 at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois.

Theft under $500

March 20: Paloma Solorio, 18, of the 300 block of Palmer Avenue, Highwood, was arrested and charged with theft under $500 after police investigated a complaint of a stolen iPhone from the 400 block of Vine Avenue, Highland Park. Solorio was found in possession of the stolen iPhone.  Solorio was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 16, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

March 21: Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that a metal cow art piece was stolen from a yard sometime between March 2, 2013 and March 16. The incident occurred in the 2600 block of Point Lane, Highland Park.  

Burglary from motor vehicle

March 21: Police are investigating a report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported that sometime between 11 a.m. and 8:35 p.m. on March 21, the rear passenger window of a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer was broken. Pry marks were observed on the window trim. Taken from the vehicle was a purse with credit cards and cash. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. 

March 22: Police are investigating a delayed report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported that on March 21, between 8:30 p.m. and 8:50 p.m., unknown person(s) entered an unsecured vehicle and stole a laptop, jumper cables and set of keys. The incident occurred in the 400 block of Laurel Avenue, Highland Park. 

March 24: Police are investigating a report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported that a silver 2007 Toyota Corrolla was parked in the 1900 block of Second Street, Highland Park from 4:30 p.m. until 9:20 p.m. When the owner returned, the front passenger window had been broken. Stolen was a tan snakeskin pattern leather purse from Urban Outfitters containing cash, a cloth wallet with credit and debit cards, and various personal items. Purse had been left either on passenger seat or in passenger wheel well.

Driving under the influence

March 22: A minor was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, uninsured motor vehicle, misrepresentation of age, failure to signal lane change and driving while license suspended after being stopped by police who responded to a driving complaint near Green Bay Road and Saxony Drive, Highland Park. The minor was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 26, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

March 23: David Santiago, 29, of the 2500 block of Augusta Blvd., Chicago, Illinois was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, uninsured motor vehicle and speeding after being stopped by police who responded to a driving complaint near Park Avenue West and Midlothian Avenue, Highland Park.  Santiago was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 26, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.
