Highwood Mayor Arrested for Drunk Driving

Charlie Pecaro was stopped by police Sunday morning a half mile from his house.

was arrested and charged with driving under the influence Sunday in Highland Park. 

The 42-year-old was stopped by police at 2:34 a.m. near the intersection of Half Day Road and Western in Highland Park, about a half mile from his home on the first block of Exmoor Court in Highwood, according to the Highland Park Police Department's arrest report.

Pecaro was charged with having blood alcohol content over the state's .08 limit as well as operating a vehicle with no head/tail lights and following too closely.

He was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of Sept. 23 at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan.
