Home on Green Bay Ransacked, Burglarized

Police are also investigating several car burglaries that occurred last week.

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

BURGLARIES TO MOTOR VEHICLE

Police are investigating several recent burglaries to motor vehicles. Items of value have been taken from unlocked cars parked in the driveways and streets in the 500 block of Burton Avenue and 500 block of Broadview Avenue. These incidents occurred overnight between April 29 and 30.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE

A Jeep Compass was keyed between 4:50 and 6:30 p.m. April 30 while parked in a parking lot in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

Between 10 p.m. May 1 and 7:50 a.m. May 2, someone entered an unlocked 2008 Porsche Cayenne, and took a Jabra Freeway Bluetooth surround sound speaker and cash. The vehicle was parked in a driveway in the 400 block of Orchard Avenue.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

Between 9:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. May 2 someone entered a residence in the 800 block of Green Bay Road through an unlocked rear door. The master bedroom was ransacked and jewelry and a silver flatware set were taken.

THEFT

Sometime between 5 p.m. April 26 and 8 a.m. May 3 someone removed about 10 pieces of white metal capping, for edges of a roof, from along the outside of a dumpster that rests in driveway of a construction site in the 600 block of Crofton Avenue South.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Someone drew profane pictures with a window marker on an elevator in the 600 block of Laurel Avenue. The incident occurred between 10 p.m. May 3  and 5 a.m. May 4. The drawings were easily wiped off the glass with no apparent permanent damage.
