Lake Forest Native Shot at Los Angeles Airport

A Lake Forest High School graduate whose mother still lives in the city was among those injured by a gunman Friday afternoon, according to media reports.

A Lake Forest woman is on her way to California after her son was shot Friday at Los Angeles International Airport, Fox News reports.

The resident, identified by the news station only as Judy, told Fox that her 29-year-old son Brian, who lives in Los Angeles, was shot in the leg. He called her to say he would be OK, Fox News reported.

Judy told CBS Chicago that her son is a graduate of Lake Forest High School who now works as a theater director. He was waiting for a flight to Chicago where he planned to visit relatives when he was shot, the station reported.

The gunman opened fire in the airport terminal where he killed a Transportation Security Agent. At least six other people were injured, the Chicago Tribune reported. The shooter is now in custody, according to the newspaper.
