Lifting Door Handles Leads to Attempted Burglary Arrest

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Attempted Burglary 

Matthew Bimbo, 40, of Summit was arrested August 23 for attempted burglary after police responded to a call of a person placing business cards on parked vehicles on Central Avenue and lifting door handles, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was transported to bond court and a court date is pending. 

Aggravated DUI

Tiawan Tyler, 38, of Chicago was arrested Sunday for aggravated driving under the influence while license revoked, driving under the influence, driving while license revoked and improper lane usage in the 1500 block of Clavey Road, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was transported to bond court and a court date is pending. 

Theft

Police are investigating a reported theft of a wallet while walking in the vicinity of the Central Train Station, according to Highland Park Police reports. The wallet was brown and rectangular with a zipper containing credit cards, a driver’s license and cash. One of the cards was later used in a fraudulent transaction. 

Driver’s License Infractions and More 

Valentin Hernandez-Miguel, 32, of Chicago was arrested August 23 for driving with a suspended license and disobeying a stop sign in the vicinity of St. Johns Avenue and Elm Place. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court Sept. 11 in Park City.
