Accident involving fatality

On Monday, September 3, at approximately 2:31 p.m., Highland Park Police and Fire personnel responded to a traffic crash involving a vehicle that struck four pedestrians who were walking on the sidewalk on the north side of the 700 block of Central Avenue. .

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to property. Sometime between Friday, August 24 at 9:30 p.m. and Monday, August 27 at 7:30 a.m. unknown persons broke a rear window to a vehicle parked on street in the 2200 block of Tennyson Lane, Highland Park.  Vehicle was found secured and not entered.

Theft

Police are investigating a report of a theft of wedding and engagement rings that were removed from an unlocked locker sometime between 6:45 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. on August 27 in the 400 block of Vine Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a theft of a Rolex watch which was last seen the morning of the reporting date. The complainant is in the process of moving. The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Lake Cook Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a theft.  Two wallets were stolen out of an purse that was left open sitting on top of a shopping cart at approximately 2:42 p.m. on Sept. 1.  One wallet grayish/brown in color contained 3 credit cards one of which was used at two different locations. The second wallet contained cash.The incident occurred in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a theft.  It was reported that medication was ordered through the mail and was never received. The medication was reportedly delivered to a mailbox on August 27, 2012 at 4:05 pm, no signature required. The incident occurred in the 1300 block of Ridge Road, Highland Park.

Domestic battery

Michael Bousis, 38, of the 200 block of Ravine Drive, Highland Park was arrested and charged with domestic battery and display of false law enforcement badge after police responded to a citizen’s report of a dispute in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park. Bousis was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan pending court date. 

Andrea Cooper, 45, of the 2800 block of Patten Road, Highland Park was arrested and charged with domestic battery after police responded to a report of a dispute in the 2800 block of Patten Road, Highland Park. Cooper was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan pending court date.

Retail theft

Wynne Dunton, 47, of the 400 block of Elm Street, Deerfield was arrested and charged with retail theft for allegedly failing to pay for items from a business in the 1700 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park. Dunton was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of September 19, 2012 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan.

Driving under the influence

Rommel Savage, 36, of the 2000 block of Darrow Avenue, Evanston was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, no valid drivers license, expired registration and unlawful use of a weapon (knife) after being stopped by police in the 200 block of the Edens Expressway, Highland Park.  Savage was released on a recognizance bond with a court date of October 5, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Luis Robles, 37, of the 2500 block of Trillium Lane, Highland Park was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, open transportation of alcohol and no valid drivers license after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Robles was released on a recognizance bond with a court date of September 21, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Jeanne Lewis, 46, of the 1400 block of Cavell Avenue, Highland Park was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after being stopped by police in the 1800 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park.  Lewis was released on a recognizance bond with a court date of September 28, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Gregory Hanford, 21, of the 1800 block of Wesley Avenue, Evanston was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and possession of cannabis after police responded to a 911 call of a vehicle being followed in the 3000 block of Summit Avenue, Highland Park.  Hanford was released on a recognizance bond with a court date of September 28, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Burglary to motor vehicle

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle. It was reported unknown persons smashed a front passenger side window of a vehicle and removed a coach purse from the front passenger side floor.  Purse contained various credit cards, drivers license, house keys, and cash. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of Park Avenue, Highland Park. 

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle. It was reported that a vehicle was broken into while parked between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on September 3, 2012. The vehicle was entered via a shattered front passenger window. Stolen from the vehicle was a black leather purse, a black leather wallet containing cash, and various credit cards. 

Criminal damage to vehicle

Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage to vehicle. It was reported that sometime between 7:00pm and 8:00pm an unknown subject with an unknown object cracked a front passenger window on a parked and locked vehicle in the 1300 block of Clavey Road, Highland Park.  No items were reported missing and the vehicle was not entered.
